FANTASTIC COMPARISON. Concise, comprehensive and clear. What I learned: (1) I prefer the Shure sound over the other microphones you tested. (2). I have a slight preference for SM7B over the SM7dB +18/+28. The latter sound just a tad less rich. (3). My 3rd favorite was the MV7x. (4). To MY ear, none of the other microphones were competitive with the Shures ... but I love a rich, warm, radio sound. I learned so much in this video. Thank you!

Might the USB sound get fixed with a firmware upgrade? Also, frankly, sometimes too much processing just makes an audio device sound worse even as it provides interesting options.

I am looking for a mic to use in my meetings during the day, however I cant find a mic (with software) that will clear out background noise (other people speaking). Teams noise cancellation doesnt seem to cut it. Am i looking for the wrong solution here?

I actually found myself here because of an accident. I realized that I bought the wireless capsule version of the v7x rather than the standard V7 of my other mic. When using both capsules, I noticed that they weren’t the same. Crazy enough, I actually prefer the sound of the V7x over the V7. It has way more warmth to it. When it comes to vocal mics I actually prefer one that hasn’t been factory tuned to knock out low end frequency. That way you have every frequency to work with. If a mic doesn’t have warmth from the factory tuning, it can’t be added back the same way as if it were there to begin with; you just boost mus essentially, Better to start with a bigger canvas of clear audio signal more more frequency and cut from there rather than not have any at all to use.

If you were to choose between this and Airpods 3 for Zoom calls microphone, which would you choose?

I bought this mic and it sounds much clearer than the 58a. I don’t have the noise you are getting. Overall the best stage mic I have ever purchased from Shure.

I own an RE320, modded the damn thing but still not happy, torn between AT2040 and DCM3 purchase. I feel like the AT2040 sounds a tad bit better.

Bandrew, can you pl do a decent vid for the eE v7? i'm often recommending starter mics, and your vids are a consistent comparison, but the v7 vid is so old it doesnt really fit the format and the old audio qual isnt the same.

I would take the AT2040 over most of those other mics, I will probably be buying a couple next week. My actual preference was the RE20, it's such an iconic sound all of it's own that's been around us for (in many cases) our entire lives that I have to remember that I'm listening with my ears, not my memory. I won't be affording a couple of those next week though, maybe next year.

Hi I am buying first audio interface. Should i buy 3rd gen or 4rth (which is most costly)? Purpose: live streaming and recording concerts and lections to zoom / UA-cam, band (drums, keyboard, gitars), church. Source of sound: mixing console, stereo pair (jack jack).
